Supposedly a marketing agency that offers to sell-rent timeshares

Miscellaneous

I was contacted by a man named Matthew, at which point I was informed that I would have to pay a fee of $1298 in order to get the process started. I had a time-share that I wished to sell because I was behind in payments and on a fixed income. He assured me that the fee would be returned either way. If for some reason the buyer changed his/her mind then the money would be refunded and if the sale went through then I would get it back that way.

I had no money to pay and had to call a friend in order to ask to borrow it. My friend, who is much more skeptical than I, asked me to research them first. I did and looked them up on the BBB website where they had a C rating, so I thought no problem. I did no further research and then began the process. A few weeks later I recieved the contract, which guarantees that I will be refunded the money if anything goes wrong. It promises to complete the deal within 90 days from when you made the credit card payment.

My contact guy (Matthew) had given me his cell phone number. I was in contact with him periodically and everything seemed very legitimate. It has been a little over 90 days now and I have heard nothing. I just tried that cell phone number to ask what is happening with the sale process and that number now belongs to someone else.

I am now further behind in my Time-share payments and it is in default. Plus I now have to let my friend know that it was fraud. I hope that he can get the money back or something with his credit card company. But after 90 days, who knows?!
