Promised $24.99 Autopay Price but Debited $58.98 Every Month

In March I received a flyer from Direct TV offering a promotion of $29.99 a month. I called their 800 number and subscribed to that promotion. Their representative told me that if I would allow them to debit my account, the price would be $24.99 per month.

Direct TV has been debiting my bank account for $58.98 per month. I called them yesterday and spoke to 4 or 5 of their representatives, and they informed me that I did not send the rebate in. I was never told anything about a rebate when I placed the order, and I have never seen a rebate.

I am 73 years old and my only source of income is my Social Security. I cannot afford $58.98, and because the account is in my daughter's name, I am afraid to put a stop payment on it because of the effect it would have on her credit report.
