Took my $3995 and did not get me a loan modification. Almost lost our home

Contacted Lucas Law Center in October 08 about a loan modification. They are good salesmen and wanted us to pay upfront before that would accept our case. Also told us to stop making our payment or the lender would not help us. Later they lied and said that didn't tell us that. I had several friends call and they said the same thing to them.

Once paid, they request information to forward to the lender. However, they did not contact our lender until Jan 12 and Jan 21. Our lender had placed a sale date on our home for Feb 12,09.

Called Lucas Law Center but they said we had nothing to worry about and our home was not going to be sold because we were in the loan modification process, which, we weren't. I called our lender to check the status of the modification but to my surprise, Lucas Law Center had called but only talked to the Customer Service Department not a Negiotator. Bottom line, they took our money, didn't do anything, and would not refund our $3995 because we talked to the lender. If I hadn't talked to the lender, we would had lost our home.
