The competition for yellow page ads is fierce and cut-throat. A company out of Buffalo, New York, known as TALKING PHONEBOOK feels that presure to the point where circulation numbers are exagerated, thus the businesses who pay for the ADS are often overcharged.

HEARST HOLDINGS owns this fraudulent directory, and already has their hands full in other states. This is a the story about a company who believes that they are smarter than everyone else, and whose arrogance is displayed by the way they conduct the business of sales and distribution of their publication in the states of New Hampshire and Maine.

Recently, in Lewiston, Maine, they had pallets of phonebooks sitting in a warehouse instead of being read by potential customers of the ADVERTISERS. No doubt, the businesses paid for the circulation of these books, not for the books to sit idle in a warehouse. Their solution was to mail them out to the same customers who received one at their door last November.

Usually the are "recycled, " but because of recent charges filed in the Southern part of the country, that is no longer possible. Most recently, TALKING PHONEBOOK redelivered the Manchester, N.H. Directory in Merimack, N.H. Along with the new Nashua, N.H. Directory, thus skewing the correct circulation numbers that the salespeople quote to their ADVERTIERS.
