Loan modification offer requires paying over $30,000

Hi,

I am begging for your help. For over six months I have been trying to get a workable solution or a loan modification from Citimortgage, but no one wants to help me. They do not even answer my phone calls or emails. Then, after tons of phone calls, they sent me a letter cutting my loan in half, but after six months I had to pay over $30,000, which I do not have, and they know that. In my opinion, they are pushing me into foreclosure and therefore trying to rip me off. Please find a copy of the letter that I sent to them with all my financial information. Here is the letter:

To Vikram Pandit, CEO of Citigroup

Dear Sr.,

I am not able to make my mortgage payment on time because I am having problems with my tenants. Last year I had to send one of them to court. Please see the documentation attached. He signed the lease in June, paid the month of July plus a deposit, and just disappeared. I got stuck with all the debts, including his utility bills.

Before this incident I was okay. I called him a thousand times with no answers. Finally I decided to take the case to court in order to be able to re-rent the apartment, because I knew I could no longer pay the mortgage with my savings.

In December, when the court process was finalized, I rented the place, but I could not catch up with my debts, since I have to pay my own rent. The reason I am submitting this financial statement is that I do not want to get into this situation again. Instead, I am asking for a mortgage refinancing and/or a good reduction of my monthly payment. To help me catch my breath, I hope that you can help me in this matter and understand my situation, especially these days, when even rich people and big corporations are in need of support and consideration.
