Claimed to have a buyer for my Timeshare

A Gary Gibson (his phone number 561-827-3941) called asking if we still had our timeshare for sale that he saw on a website. I said yes. He then forwarded me to a Cody Shandra (his phone# 561-932-9586). He gave us an offer which was almost 50% of our list price. We countered and he said he'd get back.

He called back with close to what our counter was, so we said we'd accept. He said he'd call the place we had it marketed through (Executive Timeshare Marketing) and get the info he needed. He called back and said they wouldn't give him any info and that they didn't do what they were supposed to do. And he would get back to us and in the mean time I would call them to see what I could do.

A couple of days later, he called and said he was ready and all he needed was a credit card number for the $1,298 that I'd have to pay (red flag). I asked what it was for and being a realtor myself, he didn't know what he was talking about. I got angry and he even acted very professional asking me not to raise my voice. I told him I wasn't paying him anything to sell my time share, as I already paid to have it marketed with Exec. Timeshare Mktg. I asked him to email me the info as to what and why I had to pay and I said I would call and find out on my end. He never did, so I went online looking for the phone numbers and Garys was a cell from W. Palm Beach, FL and Cody's was a landline, same area. I filed a complaint with the State Attorney General of Florida online and saw this site as well. Don't ever believe people that call you, and never ever pay for something unless you have something in writing first.
