Northridge Media - Scrapbooking Trends
Renewing Magazines by charging Credit Card without Consent

Miscellaneous

I ordered a subscription to Scrapbooking Trends and received 6 months of Cards magazine for free. When my renewal came up this year the company automatically debited my account the full fee of $84.95. I had know idea until I received a bounce notice in the mail from my bank. This debit had caused me to overdraft my account 5 times. $36.00 for each one.By the time I had received the noticed, it had already been 5 days and I started receiving $7.00 charges until my account was current. Total charges cost me almost $300.00. I contacted the company and they said I had been upgraded to Platinum Subscriber Program because I had paid with my debit card. This had been applied sometime during the year I was receiving the magazine. She said "they didn't want me to miss an issue" When I responded that I had no idea, the customer service rep "Janice" told me it was in my email. This is false. I did receive numerous emails from them for other offers but never read them in detail. They say on there website below that you will be notified but there was never a notice asking me to take action only offers. The cs rep told me to fax my bank statement and they would refund my money including my bounce fee's. I faxed it prompty and received a refund for $84.95. I called back and received another rep and he told me he would get with Janice and see where the problem is that they submit to another department for refunds. Once again no response. I called again. Once again same thing. Run around until you stop calling. I have posted on my usual messageboard and many others have been a victim of the same problem. I love this magazine but refuse to order from them because of the fraud they have commited. I would never auto reorder as they have deals all the time and I would want to take advantage of getting a free magazine for my order. They had no authorization to debit my account and I want my full refund and an appoligy letter to show my creditors why I have bounced fees on my bank statement.

Quote from the website that recently was added. No email was ever received except more offers for future other magazines.
