Price Waterhouse Coopers John Gabby Sent a phony check

I received a check for $4000.00 from Price Waterhouse Coopers. It came UPS
one day delivery. The check looked legit. It was from Bank of New York and it had a phone number to call. I called the number and it was for BNY in Delaware. They told me I had to call a different number in which they gave me. Thats when I got suspicious. The other number told me to contact someone else a John Gabby, thats when I thought I would file this report.
