Solar Masters
And Michael Eakman tricked and lied to us

We have made a contract with Solar Masters (now relocated to 1100 NW Loop 410, Ste 700, San Antonio, TX) to build a sunroom. Project completion was supposed to be February 20.

On February 12, Solar Masters installed the foundation framework according to specified floor plan. On this date, Solar Masters had not obtained the required building permit according to city code. Mr. Cady, regional sales manager, stated that this would be no problem, after I insisted no further work without proper permits (electrical, plumbing, concrete).

Mr. Cady said the first city building inspection was to be February 25. However, the permit had not yet been obtained. A certified letter went to Michael Eakman, president February 19, detailing concerns. We became alarmed learning Mr. Eakman employed unlicensed workers unable to obtain a permit.

On February 27, we met with Mr. Eakman in order to stop further breaches of contract and get the sunroom we desired. We met again with Mr. Eakman on March 4 to discuss a new contract with a new product and sufficient enforcement clauses. The result of our discussions concluded that we could no longer trust Solar Masters and that it would be best to terminate this agreement.

Our offer to Mr. Eakman was to restore our property to its original condition, refund our money plus legal fees OR leave the property as is and refund money. On March 5, Mr. Eakman a left voice message that he would restore the property.

March 6, without proper notification or approval to go on our property, he sent workers to remove materials from the halted project. We advised that this agreement had to be in writing with all details to avoid dispute. We then offered that he could simply refund our $5000 and it would be over. He said he would mail a check on March 7. On March 12, he said "no check, " but he would send a letter instead.

To overcome our apprehensions about a new product line (C-Thru) to the San Antonio market, we were offered a reasonable price, on-time delivery of a quality product without being able see the nearest model in Dallas.
