SCAM - Star Capital Disbursement Agency sends real checks to people asking them to cash it and send back a portion of the check to pay for taxes

My daughter received this letter in the mail from Star Disbursement Agency along with a check for $3,715.00 instructing her to call Evelyn Powell before doing anything. It said she won a random computer ballot lottery. It said after contacting this Evelyn Powell she would be given instructions to sent back in a wal-mart moneygram the taxes for this totaling $2,935.00.

Thankfully my daughter came to me first. She really thought she may have won something that would pay for her college education when she graduates high school in June.

This is a shame that people cannot get a real job and try to scam young adults like this. I want others to know this as well so this doesn't happen to the. I already contacted the bank this check was drawn (Comerica Bank, 500 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48226-3423) and will be going to the local agencies on Monday. These people must be stopped!!!
