Is falsely advertising on facebook, claiming FREE when no way is it free... internet

Miscellaneous

Ever get those Win a free $500 card for Target or IKEA, or a visa? Sometimes is a $1000 card, sometimes a flat screen TV, sometimes a laptop, and iPhone, whatever... Any amount that sounds too good to be true?

Well, now they are also offering this:

Are you unhappy with your tax return? Free $750 Stimulus Check... Etc, all about how e-bonus rewards can help.

Here is the thing, as many of you may know:

You have to fill out a "survey", most of the time it involved "Coke vs. Pepsi" Pick your favorite sneaker, candy bar, ice cream, etc... Whatever, that survey is bogus, because then you are sent to about 7 pages of offers... None of which are free... Then in order to collect your FREE check you are required to fill out the following forms from each page...

When you FIRST encounter this site, you are not quite aware of how much you will be required to spend before it all goes south:

There are 3 pages of offers

1. Silver
2. Gold
3. Platinum

You are required to buy, try, at least 2 from each page:

2 Silver
2 Gold
and 6, yes 6, Platinum

At first it seems fine and easy, ok I can try free teeth whitener, I can try panty hose, etc... Then it becomes pages of things you don't want or need, and the costs are just adding up... By the time you hit page 3, you are like, well, I already purchased all of these other things, why not? However, suddenly you think, wait, I am broke which is why I am in here in the first place trying to get a FREE $1000 card... And you start to do the math, and you probably have already spent like $200 without even thinking about it ($5.95 here, $49 there, etc)

Anyway, I stopped the first time on page 3 because I realized I was being scammed...

However, the first 7 things I had bought... Well, YOU CAN'T RETURN THEM and 9 out of 10 times YOU CAN'T get your money back. More importantly, you have to call each and every company to return the products you don't want because most of them have a small 7 day trial period and you have at least spent $ on shipping.

I was on the phone for one company for 2 hours, begging them NOT to charge me... As I had sent back the products.

In a nutshell, DON'T FALL FOR THIS!!!

Here is the new complaint.

Applications of facebook, use these same gimmicks to tempt you to buy stuff so you can actually play more games.

However, on one game site (and I assume it is not the only one) says you can have more "player points" by either buying some things, trying some things or by filling out surveys. Well, the surveys, YOU GUESSED IT, are these same surveys, however, they claim FREE... So, you assume, it is free.

It is false advertising and I have had it up to here. NO MORE, I needed to make my complaint.
