Obama Change Collection Ripoff

Miscellaneous

My wife was channel surfing one evening after the election (November 23), and came across a presentation by HSN selling the Obama Change Collection coins. After listening to the presentation, we decided to order five (5) sets of the the Obama Change Collection coins to ensure our grand children would have a piece of the most historical event that any living American has ever encountered; The election of our first African American President. We received the Obama Change Collection the later part of December. Since the coins were so called collectibles, we chose not to open the coin containers, but after hearing that a lot of people were receiving standard U.S. Coins with "stickers" of President Obama pasted on I decided to check the coin sets more closely.

I was very upset to discover that that is exactly what we received from HSN. The so called certificate of authenticity indicates the coins are real with an Enhanced Technology. I suppose the Enhanced Technology is the STICKERS which appear to be heat shrink to the surface of the coins. Since the 30 day window for returning the coins to HSN had passed, we are now stuck with six dollars and twenty five cents ($6.25 face value) worth of coins that we paid $99.95 plus $9.95 for shipping and handling. This is a major ripoff.
