Back in April the company Mailbox magazines accepted a one time
cancellation payment of $300.00 for a subscription I wrongfully made through their company.
I originally was tricked into a payment of $29.99 a month which then turned into a $59.99/ month for three magazines for two years. I was told that by law I was unable to cancel my subscription even though it had only been less than 24 hours.
Now being 2/13/09 I am recieving invoices from Mailbox Magazines' Credit and Collection Solutions for a payment for $166.44.
I called a month ago to have this settled and they told me that they would send out a confirmation letter of cancellation and now today I recieved a 48 hour notice that my account is being sent to an Attorney for further action.
Once again I spoke with a representative and she said to disregard the notice and that the attorney notice will be cancelled.
So finally I have decided to see what was really going on and check on the internet to see if there were any other cases like my own and there are a ton. I am hoping that we can take this to court and have a class action lawsuit.
