They took my money and did not do anything for me

I was referred to them by a Real Estate agent. She thought they could help modify my mortgage. I met with them and they were very polite and said they could modify my current loan. I was told they could get me either a 3yr, 5yr or even a 30yr new loan. I gave them $500.00 up front. After 3weeks I called my bank and I was told that they were never contacted by National Mediation. I then called National Mediation to see what was going on. Again they were overly polite and told me there was a communication problem with a fax that they sent to the bank and that it would be corrected. I gave them three months to do their job. I would call to check on the progress and they never returned my calls. I had to continuously call to speak to the person who was handleing my account. If I was lucky he would get on the phone and give me all kinds of excuses as to why nothing had been done. I was told that he spoke to someone at the bank but could not document any of his claims. Fortunately I was able to modify my loan on my own. I documentd this with my bank. My bank told me that National Mediation had nothing to do with modifying my loan. They gave me a $225.00 refund as a result of me going to their office and asking for my money back as per the contract. They would not give me a full refund. They blamed the bank for the problems. I then filed a report with the Attorney General Office and other agencies.
