I was a guest at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Anchorage Alaska, 5060 A Street. From February 5th until February 8th.

First off I didn't book the room, a perspective employer did but when I got to the hotel I was asked for a credit card or debit card I didn't know that they were going to charge my card for 60 for NOTHING (it was a just in case I got some movies or used the long distance) until I checked my bank account. I was told that would be refunded in a few weeks - a few weeks??? Sorry in this economic time maybe some of us don't HAVE a few weeks to wait to get money back

Then when I arrived back home I found a 250 dollar charge again to my bank account when I called to ask what that was for I was told it was because I had smoked in the room I did NOT smoke in the room! I smoked outside by the parking lot. The hotel is calling me a liar and telling the main customer care that they have proof how can they have proof of something that didn't happen? I smoked outside and if the smell carried into the room then sorry about that, not my problem. They claim that someone found ashes in my room and I have a big problem, with that considering that my room was left unlocked (per the managers instructions) from approximately 7 am on Sunday until 11:00 am on Sunday when I left.

The reason it was left unlocked and open again PER THE MANAGERS INSTRUCTIONS was because the key didn't work more of my stay they kept blaming me saying I must have had it near my cell phone then it turned out on Sunday morning that the batteries were bad in the door lock and so I said well what am I supposed to do now? And she said that since I was leaving in a few hours to just hook the latch backwards so that the door wouldn't lock so the door was opened and the room unattended for hours that morning before my departure. I don't know who went in and out of that room but I do know that I did NOT smoke in the building ANYWHERE and they can't have proof that I did it as they claim because I didn't DO IT!!! Supposedly all they are seeing is a few ashes? And that is a 250 charge???

The manager left me in a bad position by telling me to - oh just leave the room open - bullsh* Rather than actually replacing the batteries I am told to leave the ROOM OPEN with my things in it? WOW

When I asked to speak to the manager I got her voicemail and she never bothered to call me back all day long but she had time to speak to the other customer service people - I was never spoken to on this matter directly.
