Charge my credit card without notice

My husband called Blockbuster to let them know we would be keeping a game we rented from BlockBuster over the holidays, it was noted on our account at Blockbuster. As a result of keeping the game, we were billed late fees of $14.96 on our account, but instead of billing us for the late fees of $14.96 for 2 weeks, they charged my credit card for the entire game of $79.15 after just being one week late. We were never notified of this charge or sent a receipt of the charge.in the meantime, we returned the game and a credit adjustment was NEVER made. According to the manager, Michelle, she does not have the time and can't "control" her computer software. So even after I turned the game in, they did not do a credit adjustments. After I freaked out she finally refunded the amount of $64.19.

What concerns me is that I have rented movies and been late many times. I know many other people who have rented from the store and have been late many times, but I am not sure if the understand the "corporate policy" or have been refunded properly. I believe I have been charged for entire movies and have not been given a credit adjustment after the movies and games were turned in. According to Michelle (manager), she does not have time to look up all her client's accounts... It is up to us to "look" for the charges and credits on our bank statements. If BlockBuster is going to charge for movies then at least a receipt or post card should go out to notify people of the charges. But according to Michelle at BlockBuster they don't have to send me a post card warning that they were going to charge for the ENTIRE game. But strange enough I did get post cards telling me of my $7.48 late fees and to call BlockBuster to arrange for payment...

I do not always scrutinize my bank statements, so for all I know this company owes me hundreds of dollars. I am sure I am not the only person that they have done this to. This is worth investigating...
