I cancelled a payment online that was due on 1/16. I set up the payment for another date. On 1/16 despite the fact that I had canceled the payment, my checking account was debited for 195.00. The next day, I called national grid to tell them that they had no business debiting my account for that amount as I had cancelled the payment. I spoke to at least 3 different people on that day, with 3 different responses as to how they were going to "fix" the problem. On Monday, 1/19, I was told that I would receive a "refund" check in 7 to 10 days for the amount debited, since they could not reverse the payment from my checking account. Feb 5, which was 10 days from 1/19, has come and gone and still no check. On 1/5 I called national grid to let them know Once again my situation, and to say I had not received a check for the 195.00. The customer service rep. Stated that "there was no record of any such transaction, or any record of a check mailed to me. She "assured" me that a supervisor would call me... And gee, guess what, supervisor never called. So it is now 2/6 and I have had no response from them. I want my refund check for their mistake! If there was a way I could cancel my account with them, I would... They have no idea what is going on in their own company.
