Advantage Network, World Travelers Travel Scam, Scam to get Bank Account Infomation

Miscellaneous

I got a call on my cell phone from the World Travelers and from this number 818-660-1087. I just want everybody to know that I also googled their number while I talked to them and found lots of information about this being a scam.

While we chatted I read to her some of the posts. The woman that I spoke to was nice and stayed on the phone even after I told her I wouldn't answer anymore questions. She said she didn't know anything, and that she was in Clearwater FL, and couldn't understand why the number came back to Glendale CA. I told her I believed her, and that the phone dialer that called me could be anywhere. I then complimented her for being nice and staying on the line after I told her I wouldn't answer more questions.

These aren't bad people talking to you, they are just working for bad people. The lady who called me claimed to be from Worldwide Travel Club and let me know that since I had used my check at one of their "client" stores, I had won a free vacation (3 days/2 nights) plus $400 in travel vouchers. ALso wanted me to preview their membership program free of charge for 2 weeks. Would still get the free trip, just needed to call the provided phone number if wanted to cancel before the two weeks were up. She just needed me to confirm my bank name and routing number then wanted to know my bank account number.

She was very good and very patient. I never gave her my bank number. She ended up putting me on hold then somehow, I got "disconnected". I did a reverse call back and that's when I got this phone number: 818-660-1087. When I called that number I got a recording saying: This is the worldwide travel club please leave name and number and we'll call you back.

Don't fall for this and don't give anyone your bank account number. WOLRD TRAVELER CLUB IS A SCAM!!! IF YOU GET THIS FROM ANY NUMBER (because they can change what number comes across the caller ID) do not fall for this! Telemarketing Travel Fraud: These scams have many variations and often involve travel packages that sound legitimate. You get a phone call and the caller is saying that you have been selected to receive a free trip. Skilled salespeople will tell you, to be eligible for the free trip, you must join their travel club. Later, you may find another fee is required to make your reservation.in the end, you may never get your "free" trip because your reservations are never confirmed or you must pay different fees, or comply with hard-to-meet or expensive conditions.

Check out the company with your state, provincial and local consumer protection office before you buy any product or service. Also, be wary of "great deals" and free offers. Few legitimate businesses can afford to give away products and services of real value or substantially undercut other companies' prices.
