Rip-off billing Fraud

After receiving my current Visa bill this month, I noticed a charge for $8.95 by "Questsavers". I immediately called their 800 number. I was greeted by an agent who listened to my complaint. I explained that I had never knowingly accepted, authorized, sanctioned, used, or requested any services from Questsavers. I demanded that I be removed from any "membership" list. After exchanging necessary information regarding identity, I was informed by the agent that I was NOT in the system. They had no idea who I was nor how or why I was billed, because the Visa account number and current address information I provided had failed to yield any results in their computer system. I now have the challenge of trying to be removed from a "membership" list that doesn't include me, except, apparently for billing purposes. This type of deceptive and fraudulent business practice appears to be prevalent in today's society. With the advent of the internet as an important and useful tool for conducting various business and private relationships, it is important for the consumer to be observant, cautious, and wary.
