Another Rip Off Scam with True Vision Inc

Back in May 08, a "gentleman" named Maurice showed up at my door, dressed nicely in a suit. He stated that he was working with a company, True Vision, in order to help turn his life around. He admitted he had made some mistakes in life, had been in prison, involved with drugs, etc.

He was working with True Vision by selling magazines. I looked over the list, and realized he didn't have many magazines I wanted, but I felt bad for him and wanted to help him out so I chose a Teaching magazine as a surprise for one of my family members.

I noticed on the receipt it could take 120 days for delivery, so I assumed she would have gotten it around Aug - Sept, but she never mentioned receiving it. When I saw her over the holidays, I asked if she had ever gotten it and she hadn't! It has been over 7 months!

I called the company today, and amazingly was able to talk to someone. He stated that the company they had been using to process the subscriptions went out of business in March (how this effects me since I bought mine in May, I don't know) and it took them a few months to find a new company. He assured me they had the delivery for the first issue scheduled between 12/15 -1/6. I stated that it was WELL beyond the 120 days stated on the receipt, but he asked me to bear with them before I cancel it. I told him I would call her on 1/7 to see if she had gotten it, I can guarantee you if she hasn't I'll be cancelling it - that is, if I'm able to get through and talk to someone.

This company plays on your emotions by having their "reps" tell sob stories about how their turning their lives around, and are very pushy to get you to subscribe. I honestly felt like I was helping him out, and now feel like an idiot who got taken advantage of.

If anyone from this company rings your doorbell, DON'T ANSWER!
