Consumer Info.com offered a free credit report. I accepted that offer and provided the info, which was to be used for validity purposes only. Well, I never received any information on the report but the a credit card charge popped up about a month later for $79.95

I called immediately when I saw the charge and a smooth talking chap by the name of Brian began by apologizing for my lack of reading comprehension, then he proceeded to ply a bit more information from me for verification purposes. You know the drill: mother's maiden name and my social security number.

I went ballistic and demanded to speak to a supervisor. Liz Cavera was her name and she began to ask the same questions. I refused to answer save for the e-mail address and then she advised that the account would be closed.

This is more than a bit scary... I will be checking my account daily for the duration.By the way, she said that the name of human resources exec is Michael Gordan. His address is 1 City Boulevard, West Suite 401, ORange, CA 92868.
