Hunington Bank

My son is in basic for the Marines. His loan is co-signed. The bank stated he did not have to make payments without any repercussions (late charges / credit damage).
The co-signer's credit has been damaged b/c payments were not met-even though the bank said otherwise. They state the co-signer is responsible. Why not tell the soldier this in the beginning???

I had called the first month the 'late note' came thru and that person said it was a computer generated letter and to ignore it - well I did and now credit is damaged.
What help has this been for my son??
