Cut limit! Nationwide

My credit limit also suddenly halved. I'd been with them for 3-4 years, and I was doing some Christmas shopping this past weekend, for my many young nieces and nephews, when my card was denied 3 times in a row. I was shocked, to say the least, but too pissed to be embarrassed because I just "knew" I had at least $1k available, and I didn't even have $100 worth of toys I was attempting to purchase.

Well, I got outside and called to listen to my balance, and that's when I discovered my limit had been nearly cut in half. I was severely pissed. I stayed on to speak to a representative and politely told him to close my account.

I intend to have the card paid off by March if not sooner. This was the only credit card I had, and I have never missed a payment, and I routinely overpay to keep my balance low. Then, out of the blue, they cut my available credit down to where I only had ONE DOLLAR! I currently owe 100% of my balance (about $1k), and I'm pretty sure that doesn't look good on my credit. This is unforgivable.

I will avoid Wal-Mart in the future. That card was the one thing that had tied me to them in recent years, despite the sometimes horrid customer service. That's all over now.
