Fraud Rip-off In a big way via credit card

So - I have found 2 charges on the same day in February from this company montsr.com - called the number on the bill which doesn't identify itself as a telephone number but sits right next to the credit card description of the item/company who charged you.

Very pleasant.&5 minute wait. Person answered phone asked me if I knew a Jimmy Lowery. Answer = NO. Asked me if I used Comcast.net Answer = No. Asked me if I resided at a particular address... Funny enough the address was an address of mine that I moved from over 1 year ago. Told me the person subscribed to 2 websites... Asked me if I did it. Answer = no. They gave me a confirmation number and told me they would reimburse me for the charges.

This is when it gets interesting... I told him that I was calling my Credit Card company to place a hold on the charges and they told me that they have been PAID already and no reason to do that. I told them that I was telling my Credit Card Company that FRAUD was involved and they told me I didn't need to do that either. All they wanted me to tell my Credit Card company was that they would reimburse me for the charges and gave me a Confirmation number to refer to.

Interesting that the charges to my credit card happened exactly in the month that my Credit Card was expiring and just before I received my new card. Somewhat of an interesting coincidence especially if THIS COMPANY - MONTSR was doing their job properly they would verify billing information when charges come through and obviously this would have never been processed in the first place.

MY SUGGESTION - tell your Credit Card company that Fraud is involved and you would like a new card number and cards. This is the only way to ensure that the problem stops as you can't trust anyone these days.

HOW DID THEY GET IT - I haven't a clue however, it isn't out of the ordinary to see a news report every now and again about someone breaking into a credit card database and stealing numbers. Think about it - those are only the companies that report it... How many companies don't want to report such an incident as it would damage their brand-name.
