They stated my debt was going to suit and they were trying to help

I had a Credit Card a long time ago. Last Spring while trying to clean up my credit report, I settled on a figure with this card company directly for a reasonable sume to be paid in three installments. I was able to make the first installment, then as situations arose was unable to continue.

I called the Card Company direct and told them of my situation. They said they understood and that they were willing to deal with me if my situation improved.

Around the end of Septembe this year I began recieving a flurry of calls from a credit collection agency (not the one of this story) who was very polite and willing to help all they could. They eventually got the Credit holder to setlle for half of the original debt and I tried everything in my power to borry the rediculously low sum to pay it off. I was unable to. As a result, the debt was to be charge off at the end of October this year.

As of yesterday, 8DEC08, I recieved a call from the Frye Law Office stating that my debt had been sold and it was going to suit. They stated that they wished to save me from being sued and was really trying to collect the debt.

After explaining the situation to them, they began to get ugly, to the point that I hung up on them. I recieved a call back 10 minutes later. I didn't answere the call. After talking with a friends who have had similar problems, I called the Michigan States Attorney General's office and filed a complaint.

Come to find out, this "Law Firm" has had a lot of complaints. Then I looked them up on Google, and again found sites full of people complaining about this firm and thier threatening tactics.

If anyone else has had problems with them, I would like to hear it.
