Not releasing my money to me

I was given the severe run around when I tried to close out my on-line direct savings account with Washington Mutual. I had over 95000.00 in this account. First told me I could only close on line. Then had to go to a financial institute to close account. Did that, and they said I had to close out on line. This went back and forth several times. Finally told me to send a notarized letter to above address stating I wanted account closed and I would recieve a check in 10 business days. Well, at least 15 business days go by and I did not recieve a check. I asked if they had sent it certified mail and they said no that they were not authorized to do this. Then they FED_EX'd a stop payment form to me and said it would be another 10 days before I could get my money. Again, would not commit to sending via certified mail. Then I was told that it would be 90 days from the day the account was closed before I could get my money. What's not to say that this next check will get "lost" in the mail. I do not believe that the first check was ever sent. This could go on and on and on and on. I have e-mailed them almost every day and get a general response (the same thing all the time) and they never address my questions. Meanwhile, I am drawing no interest on this money and basically have lost my money. How can they get away with this??? I desperately need this money as I had an accident and was in the hospital for a week and have many bills to pay and cannot get at my money. What can I do??? Washington Mutual needs to be exposed for their practices. They have basically stole my money and I don't know what or where to go from here. Please help me.
