Unhelpful customer service reps who all but refuse to issue refunds

First and foremost, I am not the typical person that you will see on this website. I'm not the person who has just experienced a simple misunderstanding, or failed to read the fine print or anything to that effect. I bought a prepaid GreenDot mastercard for use on the internet whenever I'm purchasing something from a website that I have not used before. I figured that rather than risk a catastrophe with my regular credit card, why not just by a prepaid card...

That being said, it turns out that the prepaid company, Green Dot, is the biggest criminal of them all. Its not that I believe that these people are hardened criminals or intentionally evil, but I do feel that they're employees are so stupid and that their horribly designed system make their problems and failures inevitable. On several occasions I have reloaded funds onto this prepaid card, only to have some of the funds disappear before ever being loaded. For example, on one occasion I loaded $99 USD onto the card, but minutes later when I went to the Greendotonline.com website, I found that my account was only credited for 92$. Where did the remain seven dollars go, you ask? Beats the living h*ll out of me. When I called their customer service, at first it was nearly impossible to speak to an actual. Their phone number locks you up in an automated system and only gives three options: "To check your account balance press one, To report your card stolen press two, to load a prepaid money pak press three", if you are not looking to do any of those options, you are out of luck. When I finally and miraculously go through to a person, the poor customer service rep did not speak English well at all, luckily I speak Spanish. When I started speaking to her in Spanish, I realized that she had to have been borderline mentally retarded. I mean that in all seriousness.

After I was put on with a supervisor they explained to me that the charged was their "five dollar monthly maintenence fee" when I tried to explain to him that the fee in question was neither 5$ nor was it showing as a monthly maintanence fee, he seemed bewilderded. Finally the supervisor creditied back the seven measley dollars. The very next time I loaded funds onto this card, the same thing happened again, only in two serperate amounts of 4$ and 4$. I couldn't believe it. Its my own fault for even dealing with them again, but after this second time I simply threw the prepaid card away and chalked up the 8$ as life lesson. The moral of the story: do not use greendot prepaid credit cards at anytime for any reason, you're simply asking for trouble.
