In August I was contacted by this company via telephone. I didn't not wish for any magazine subscriptions. For my time, I was offered a product for $4.95. It was never received.
In October, I received a piece of mail on the 17th. When I returned to town on Oct. 21st, I opened my mail. There was a offer from Health Benefits/Consumer Rewards which I was not interested in. It stated that I had a 30 trial. It stated that if I was not interested in this, I had 30 days to cancel, before $95.40 would be charged to my account. I immediately went to my online banking and they had already, on the 20th, charged my account. I immediately called the 800 number provided. I was told it would take 30 days to receive my refund of $4.95 and $95.40. I mentioned to them that they did not give me 30 days, why should I give them 30 days. 30 days has come and gone with several telephone calls and supervisors hanging up on me. I never used bad language but kept more stern with each telephone call made. I called again. They said I am scheduled for my refund, but does not understand why I have not received it. The supervisor would have to be met with and I would receive a return call. This was a business account that I made with the first charge on, for my business. Since they made the unauthorized charge, I have not used this account. It was troublesome to my business, for having to open a new account, leaving this account open for the awaiting refund, resetting my account for purchases with my vendors, etc. How can we be protected from these people?
