Closed only one of the 2 accounts I requested closed and refuses refund

When we contracted Lexington law we were told that they would do all the work for us and provide us with results on our disputes. They even disputed good items on our reports and when we complained they told me It was my decision on what to dispute. I told them I would never dispute good info and that I am relying on them to do all the work as promised and I stated I have a copy of the fair credit reporting act but do not have time for all the disputes. The lady agreed and apologized. After around 8 months of NO results I canceled both mine and my husbands accounts via an email I unfortunately did not save. They cancelled my account but continued to take out money for my husbands which I did not notice for a couple months. Since I was told that we could not get a refund because I did not give them 1 full year to fix out credit. I decided we would go ahead and continue on with my husbands because we were close to the 1 year mark. Being an authorized user I went ahead and cancelled my hubby account on 8/20/08 at 3:59 pm (this time I wised up and saved the documentation). With the cancel request I asked fro a refund. I waited patiently until today I called to see what the issue was figuring they have had sufficient time to process all required items. The man I spoke to said he never saw a refund inquiry WHICH I HAVE A COPY OF. And that since I did not send updated reports every 90 days I do not get a refund. He said I never sent any updates which I did. If they were not receiving them in turn making it impossible to fix my credit as promised then why didn they contact me and continue to take my money. They were taking money for a job they could not do??? When I researched credit repair agencies I read on Rip off report that they were very bad about refunds and canceling accounts. BOTH are true for me. Had they canceled BOTH accounts the first time I would have went on my merry way learning a lesson that I was a sucker but I continued to pay on an account I had requested be canceled for around 6 months just to get a refund I now am being told I cannot have. I contracted them to do the work for me and they did not. My husbands score did not budge 1 point nor did mine.
