2009 Honda Accord EX—Defective TPMS System—Management Uncooperative

I just purchased a 2009 Honda Accord EX on 11/5/08—upon leaving the dealership, with 11 miles on the car, the TPMS indicator light came on, and has stayed on ever since. Took the car back in on 11/7/08, and the service dept. Only says that the tires "may or may not" have been checked for proper inflation, despite my insistence that they be checked, as well as the TPMS sensor (s). All involved at Bryan Honda are unwilling to provide ANY documentation of the car being in for any type of service on this date.

The dealership is a 75-mile round trip, and the only miles that have been put on the car have been to the dealership and back now. Their latest "attempt" to fix this problem was to try to convince us to go to a local tire shop and get nitrogen in the tires, which American Honda Corp. Themselves cannot say will fix the problem, and cannot deny that this may indeed alter or invalidate our warranty on the TPMS system if the problem persists.

We fear driving the car, and have been absolutely advised not to do so by our auto insurance company—this car is a hazard, and the whole process a disaster. The TPMS stays on constantly, and is not and "on and off" situation as one might see with fluctations in temperature changes.

We have been loyal customers to Bryan Honda (two cars in the last year), but now know that they want your money and then want you to leave. Period. Heaven forbid you should have a problem or need their service department! They are rude, insensitive, uncompassionate and uncaring to your needs and desires once they make that sale. I've had much better treatment in Sanford and Southern Pines (my last four cars have been Honda Accords). I have filed complaints with the Dept. Of Consumer Protection and the BBB so far, and hope to get this matter resolved. No one should have to be stuck with a defective new car, and Bryan Honda is willing to sell them without hesitation or concern for your investment or your well-being.
