Shady dealings with Barnes&Noble as a previous manager

As a previous merchandise manager until yesterday 11/13/08 getting fired for being accused discussing a event that happened outside the company... I was termed because our assistant manager got arrested several months ago and became public knowlege because of the police log report in the newspaper and hello Barnes & Noble does sell daily news papers for people to read including employees. The store manager did not even give me the time of day to dicuss the matter I was being accused of dicussing the arrest of the asm... However I took matters in my own hand and got a signed statement from a book seller that over heard booksellers discussing and laughing about the arrest of the asm several months prior...

I must say I am not surprised I was termed... The store manager clearly discriminates against for being gay thus is the real reason for getting termed... Once the manager found out I was gay the foolish write-ups began thus getting me fired...

Having worked retail managment for several years it is known that district managers and store managers hide and cover shady buisness when they do not want someone working for them, they do anything in power to rid of the person.

It does not surprise me that the decline of store buisness is not only from the economy but also the way the poor customer service Barnes & Noble delivers to there customers... There is always a lack of associates on the bookfloor at most given times of store operation... Most book sellers are to lazy to find the book when a customer needs assistance and cannot find what the customer is looking for... Thus having to order the book for the customer and delaying getting the book to the customer... in most cases the books are already in the store... Poor training habits from managment is the blame for poor customer service... Shame on Barnes & Noble...
