Work from home scam

I received a flyer in the mail about a work from home opportunity to be a home mail processor. It seemed to good to be true and I have never been a victim of a scam so all I needed to do was send in $34 to cover the postal costs. I noticed the check was cashed almost a month ago and I have still not seen anything in the mail from them. I cannot get in contact with the company. I do not have any email or phone numbers for them! I'm a stay at home mom and i was just looking for some extra income to support my family. Turns out they just took some of my hard earned money. Please don't be a victim like i was!
