I had agreed to a 3 month "gift" subscription for completing an online purchase on a reputed electronics company website. I thought i cancelled the subscription within 3 months and also had a confirmation number. But i was surprised to see the same company charge my credit card again for approx USD 114.00 last week. So i called them again, and cancelled the subscription, but just to make sure i decided to speak to a customer service agent.

What i found was a bit shocking. Yes, i had cancelled the subscription, but it was only for "future charges". Which basically meant that they were not going to refund the charge that was already on my credit card - it just meant that they wont charge me NEXT YEAR! This is the fraud within the fraud.

If you are unfortunate enough to be ripped off by these guys (and they go by many names) please speak to a customer "service" agent and confirm that they will refund the monies to you. For good measure, i told them that i will be writing a letter to their corporate offices about this incident. It worked for me, because as soon as i said this, a "supervisor" was called to speak with me. She told me that my subscription was cancelled and that i will receive all refunds within 72 hours.

They operate on multiple fraud names - FEW that i have encountered are:

Beware!!! Call them immediately, and your bank, if you get magazines you dont recall having subscribed to.
