I have to relocate and am unable to take my cat with me. So I thought I would call the Human Society for help. The person who answered the phone 516-594-1721 at 1:15 pm on October 26, proceeded to tell me that they couldn't help me, that if I brought my cat to a shelter they'd probably euthenize her and I should reconsider.
Reconsider or she'd be euthanized! I was horrified and recommended to this person who would not give her name that she never answer the Humane Society phone again.
If this Human Society location cannot help people who have no choice but to find homes for their animals, with even the simplest of empathy or kindness, they should not be supported and should not in fact be in business.
I am thoroughly disgusted.By trying to do the right thing for my animal I was ridiculed.
