Larry O'Brien Outrageous Employment Practices

Miscellaneous

The conversation ends with me saying " that's not what Linsey or Barry said and if that's the way your company does business then your employment ad should read that way.

The problem is not the outcome its the rule book. You can't tell me one thing and then when it's time to pay me tell me another and think it's ok. Your policy is outrageous and I will let as many people as I can know... And so the aftemath begins

The employment ad read "$30000 per year plus commission, I sent my resume to them and I got an interview with the Sales Manager (Linsey) for this company. The Sales Manager stated that I would be receiving a call from the National Sales Manager the next day.

The National Sales guy (Barry) quizzed me on the information and sales pitched that I had received in my initial interview. After answering the questions to his satisfaction, I was asked to try the job for one day to see if I would enjoy doing this line of work. I was told that I would be paid for this day.

He also warned me that they don't mind working with their reps and giving them time to meet their sales goal, however they would not do this for a long period of time. Simply because they were in the business to be profitable and make sales.

I told him that with any sales position its understandable to start off slow and develop into the position. He agreed and said we are paying you a weekly gas allowance, salary and commission, so doing a good job would be beneficial to me and the company.

I went out at 9:00 am on a Tuesday and called this guy named Larry (National Sales Manager), Larry told me to go over the sales skit, pick certain companies but no two of the same type and try to get two sales today. I went to 15 businesses that day and made 5 appointments to do my presentation at the beginning of the following week.

I called Larry, later that day and he said don't worry "no one sales anything the first day". He then offered me the job and told me to call their office and give them my personal information. I did that, the young lady told me that pay day was evey friday, but she didn't have all my information yet and I should call the Sales Manager to have her give the office my pay information.

After doing that, I started for the company, made my sales presentations daily, called and spoke to Larry 2-5 times daily and tried to get new businesses. I met resistance even from their previous clients, who complained that they had not even gotten all their material or even seen the rep that sold them the ad.

I sort of brushed this off but began to wonder if this company was legitimate or not. On Friday, which was to be pay day I got no check, I called and spoke with Tiffany at the office and she said that no information was in for her yet but that I should call Larry. I called Larry and he told me the complete opposite of what the Sales Manager (Linsey) and the National Sales Guy (Barry) had said.

Since I hadn't made a sale, then I would not be getting paid my salary, if I didn't make any today then it would be my last day and the company is not a charity and they don't just give money away. I had spent $100 of my hard earned money on gas, the wear and tear on my car along with the walking and energy that I had wasted.

So go back up to the top of this report and you will se how the conversation ends but Sales people, Job seekers Do Not ANSWER THEIR AD!!! They want you to do all the work and not get paid for the effort.
