$5.95 cgarge on my check card

I have no idea why you charged my debit card for $5.95. I did not sign up for anything. I was called about insurance but declined saying i had no credit card to charge. I was told they had a debit card record. Later i found this charge on my bank statement as well as a aig ins. Charge for $5.00. The $5.00 was removd. What is this?
