Stay away from Last Minute Fares owned by Nishita Shah.

I am writing to complain about Last Minute Fare Travel Agency. My family has been contemplating a vacation to visit the grave site of my late mother who past away in 2006. We saved our money and really planned for this vacation for a whole year. Not only that but we planned for our two young daughters to see our country of origin, Uganda.

On March 12 through the Internet we solicited for the best bid for air fare from Miami to Entebbe. Last minute Fair turned out to be the best in price. So we contracted with them to provide us reservation with a departure date of July 14th (Two adults two children) for the price of $5,784.00. According to Nishita Shah, this payment was due March 14th in order to keep the reservation. Last minute Fair gave us the option to pay by credit card which would be an extra $200 for the four tickets or pay by cashiers check. Since we had the savings, we didn't want to use credit; instead we paid by cashier check.

Last minute Fare confirmed our reservations and gave us two booking references both with Martin Air and KLM Airlines. The date to travel was July 14 and return was August 20th. Nishita told me that the tickets were to be an electronic one. As time went by I kept on asking her where the ticket were but she kept on assuring me to proceed to the airport and all will be okay. When we arrived to check in at Miami International Airport with our entire luggage, the ticket clerk asked us if we changed our dates. We never changed our dates and to find out few minutes latter Last minute Fare changed our reservation without notifying us and didn't even pay the airlines for the tickets.

At the ticket counter, the ticket clerk called Last Minute Fare to find out why the dates were changed without letting us know and if it was okay to approve us to board the plane since their were seats available. Last minute Fare instead got busy on booking us for the 16th, then on KLM web site changed to the 20th. Whenever I called Last Minute Fare to get the confirmation numbers for the new reservations and have the tickets paid for. I have always got the run around with standard answer of "Don't worry all will be fine".

I planned for five weeks of vacation with my family in Uganda. We lost one week of our vacation trying to sort out this mess. We wouldn't even go back to work because we are being promised soon, one more day all will be fine but never ending. We lost wages, cost of rental vans and hotel reservations in Amsterdam.

Finally I asked last minute fair to forget about the booking which they have clearly been unable to do and I paid them in March. I demanded for a refund and Nashita told me that she will get with accounting department to process the refund so that I can make my own reservation with that money. I received an email from one by the name of Lynn Bell that money will be overnight in a couple of days.

When I emailed them again about my refund, I received a response email that they are having problems with their bank account. I threatened to contact an attorney; their response was that I would also hear from their attorney. Up to today, (October 6) I have not received my refund and every call I have made to this company about my refund, they have always lied by the refund.

I have contacted the State attorney in Delaware but the company appears to be operating out of California.

It is a lot of money and I would to get it back. This Nishita Shah need to be jailed so as to stop issuing bogus ittelnary and attempting to keep money that she is not entitle to.

I am sure there others who have the same scenario and probably got it resolved. If so please post so that we can all from protecting ourselves from fraudulent transactions.
