A $4998.00 Cashier's Check got my attention, but when I saw there was very little supporting information, my suspicions were up. The phone number on the check to 1-866-859-8372 to Intercity State Bank, Schofield, Wisconsin, stated this account was on hold and to contact customer service, but no number was given for customer service.
The Shoppers Reports Inc. Letter asked me to call 1-905-599-8549, ext 100, or 1-905-617-4858, ext 100, 'to connect to a coordinator for detailed instructions' but when I checked the area code, I found out the '905' exchange is Ontario, Canada.
I searched 'The Shoppers Reports Inc.' on the internet in hopes of finding a web page but instead found a rip off report very similar to mine.
Stay away!
It's really deceitful advertising.
