I had an estimate done on my home in Maryland. When the gentlemen came out and inspected my foundation, he spent all of 5 minutes looking at it and 2 hours telling me my foundation is going to collapse if i didnt do something with it now. Needless to say I told the gentlemen thank you and would like to see his warranty before contracting out with him. He was reluctant to give it to me to review and said warranties don't matter because they are the only certified water proofers in maryland through the NAWSRC. A week later I got a call from their office saying they will discount the work 50% (How in the world is that possible?) if I would have the work done now. When I asked them for the warranty i got the same reaction. After telling them I wouldnt sign anything with out seeing a warranty they finally emailed me a warranty that specifically covered only where they worked.
Lossing all confidence in the company I went to NAWSRC to look for a contractor and low and behold they were NOT certified! And as I did see one waterproofer on the website that was certified I invited them out to see my problem. They were extremely proffessional and explained exactly what my problem was, and WARRANTIED the Entire Foundation as well... Not just a fraction of the home. To all those with basement issues... Please... Please... Read the warranty... A "Lifetime Warranty" of 1% of the basement is not a good investment in any book!
