Dead beat dad can't get off his xbox long enough to pay attention to his own son

Hi my name is Cathrine and my sons father is a dead beat dad when my son was made his father went to jail for drugs. The whole time I was pregent with him he harrassed me all the time. He called me and told me all kinds of things. Now my son is 19 months old and his father doesnt do a thing to help us out. I live int he same house with him temporarly. He hasnt had a job for 6 months and when he did he bought some clothes for him once. Now we live in the same house and he ignores him everyday and plays his xbox all day. He doesnt mind telling his friends about him and showing him off but he cant get a job to help support him. I have been doing it by myself. Evertime I try to talk to him about it he curses at me and tells me he doesnt want to hear what I have to say. I work overtime just so I can make it and find a place of my own. He doesnt clean and the house he lives in has bugs I have asked him so many times to please do something and he refuses. I have begged and pleaded with him to help me out with our son and he never does anything. It brings tears to my eyes and I feel I am going to have to take him to court. I love my son with all of my heart. I cant understand why if you say you love him why you can sit right in front of him and not even acknoledge he is here. If he doesnt do anything now I can only imagine how bad it is going to be when we are not here anymore. I have givin him so many chances to do something. When he was working he thought because at the time i didnt have a job he didnt have to do anything. Since my son has been born his father hasnt been there for him. Is that love? He only does things for him when it is convinent for him. That is not a parent and that is not love. I will be taking hi to court because I am done trying to ask him to get a job and to help me because I cant do it all myself.
