Netspend Austin Texas
Ripped off a child's birthday gift Austin

Miscellaneous

My 11 year old daughter received an all access card for the amount of 25$ for her birthday. On the front of the card is an imprinted expiration date of 09/09. She has been holding on to this card until she had saved enough money to make a purchase.

We went shopping the other day and the clerk told her the card was worthless. When I called 1-800-699-9708 I was told that since she hadn't used the card in the first 6 months after it was purchased that she was charged a monthly fee of 5$ and had spent the whole amount on service charges. I was outraged! This card says GIFT in big letters on the front with an expiration date of 09/09. Perhaps somewhere in some fine print (but nowhere on this card) does it say that a monthly fee will be charged prior to the expiration date.

How dare they issue GIFT cards with a service fee for nonuse prior to the printed expiration date. What a rip off! I'm sure that there are thousands of children and adults ripped off daily by this scam while they rake in the bucks!
