USSC Financial - Mellon Bank - United States Steel
Bogus sweepstakes check, similar to previous Del Financial reports

Miscellaneous

A letter arrived stating that my wife had won $125,000 in a sweepstakes. There was a claim code 4263DAW and three names (Cameron McCuaig, Sean Peter and Susane Anderson) were all mentioned with the same phone number 1-647-219-6728 which through reverse lookup appears to be a cell phone in Toronto.in addition to the letter was what appears to be a real check drawn on Mellon Bank for $7,991.13. The letter purportedly comes from USSC Financial, a subsidiary of United States Steel.

A brief web search leads me to believe that no such entity as USSC exists. The similarity to the previously reported cases involving Del Financial on usacomplaints.com is uncanny and I can only assume that this is the exact same scam under a different guise.
