False Promises

I contacted HomeVestors after receiving several mailing advertising their service. I had accepted a position in California and wanted to sell my wife and my house quickly. One of their representatives came over, we explained the situation, and he accessed our house.

Admittedly, it was not in the best of shape, but their slogan was "We Buy Ugly Houses." We were given a figure my wife and i were satisfied with, also admittedly lower than we really wanted, and was told to leave the house as is. We instructed them that we had additonal packing to do and instructed them to wait until we were ready.

Within a week there was a sign up on our lawn and a lockbox on the door. My wife and I left for California for my position; my wife was to return to Lindenwold to finish the packing. Upon her return, she discovered the house had been burgalized, with major appliances missing.

The house was in their care; for the 13 years my wife and I lived there, we have hadn't as much as a newspaper taken from our property. We travel extensively, and have left the house before for weeks at a time.

I am currently seeking legal advice to consider my next step.
