The purchase of my vehicle from Kens Cars has been a horrible experience, during the time of sale, the sales manager, Jay Shirey of Kens Cars and Credit had offered my fianc (Tom Larruscain) and myself (Kathryn Campbell) alcoholic beverages at the time of signing, and had even suggested test driving a vehicle while drinking a beer.

The first week of June, I had called Jay repeatedly, finding out new things about the car the gas clip to pop the lid had broken and I could not figure out how to get into the cars gas tank. I called Jay, he couldn't tell me. He said, "Worse comes to worse, go in the trunk and there will be a string you can pull." It was obvious to me that he was inebriated and wouldn't be able to help me. Nearly an hour later I got into the vehicle gas tank after having to go through the trunk to pop the pulley on the lid, and I disregarded the continued treatment by Jay and Kens Cars and Credit despite my instinct.

On June 4th the Check Engine light came on in the vehicle and the trunk broke; wouldn't shut, the switch that you pull to pop the trunk also broke off and the brakes began an awful grinding sound. I called Ken La Flamme, General Manager and told him I didn't want the car. He said there were no refunds or exchanges and that if he wanted he could give me a mechanics name and number and I could fix the car at my own cost, or turn it in with no refund. A t this point I had the car for a week and had not even made my first biweekly payment yet which was due on June 6. I made my first bi weekly payment of $140.00 on that date, and on June 27, I made a 7 day late payment with a money order for $120.00. The payment was due June 20. Ken had called my phone and left a message saying if the payment wasn't received on the 27th, he would start the repossession process. I called back not even 2 hours after getting the message, and asked to speak with Ken, Jay said Ken wasn't available and how could he help me; I advised Jay the reason the payment had not been made yet was because I only had cash and I got off work after 6 pm.By that time their office is closed and I could not make a cash payment, plus I wanted a receipt for the payment. Jay advised me to go ahead and get a money order, make it out to the company and place it in the mail box. He would make sure I had a receipt. Now, taking into consideration this is the Sales Manager, I am going to think that what I am told by the Sales Manager is what will be honored. The following night on June 28, my vehicle was repossessed. First thing I did was drive to the Car Lot to verify the payment was not in the mail box. I had to wait until June 30, to speak to Ken Laflamme. At first, he came off as wanting to assist me in this matter and said he would be helpful. Upon many numerous calls after he said he would investigate and get back to me, finally Jay called me and told me he did not have my payment, it was never posted and there for the car was repossessed. He refused to tell me where my vehicle was and when I asked if I could get my personal belongings he advised me to prove all of my accusations, get a lawyer, and then we would talk. He refused any information regarding management and would not allow me to get my license plate, personal items from my vehicle, or tell me where my vehicle was located.
