Weird unfriendly and rude counselors and so-called 'advocates' or helpers of battered or abused women and unhelpful or condescending

What is wrong with these 'women's abuse shelters'... I'm not saying they don't help people out, I'm sure they do but I have called in to the harbour house numerous times to receive negative jerks, weird people, rude people etc... Unhelpful or unfriendly. You call in for basic advice, and get only rude people with defensive attitudes... Mostly puerto rican sounding women or hispanics (nothing against hispanics) but the hispanic women that work at this place are particularly just rude and act very stupid and weird, and defensive and mean rather than being helpful... Why are they treating women calling ni this way?

I went to an outreach counselor— one time went to a counselor who was pretty nice, but then she left... Went to a counselor again to try to get into a support group—the woman basically shunned me from going to a support group! Claimed that I needed additional help for absurd reasons, and literally would not let me join the support group— this to me is an outrage and ridiculous— a woman coming in for help and support in a domestic violence situation being unallowed to join a support group? That is blatant rejection of someone for no reason and someone who is in need of help and support in a group setting. Not allowing an abused female to join a support group is flat out stupid wrong and ridiculous and the head outraech person 'debbie' is doing this to women in need of help.

On top of that they are not even giving correct advice to someone or helping them out with regards to abuse— then handing them silly papers that explain the 'cycle of abuse' which is not the kind of help someone needs... I would be afraid to call this place if I needed help and yet a hotline like this and shelter for abused women is the kind of place you should be able to call if you are in need of help or need help with an abusive situation...

What kind of pathetic women work at these places that they treat women in this way refuse to help them or are rude and even do not let them join their support group... Shame on the harbor house adn their entire stupid program and their counselors... What a joke for any woman in need of help or assistance in an abusive situation...
