Advent Product Development
Take the money and run

Miscellaneous

After seeing repeated ads on tv for Advent Product Development my husband and I deceided to call them and make an apppointment to discuss having our idea patented. Are first appointment was with George C. Galvin. On November 11. After discussing our idea for The Doggie Doo, George Galvin made it sound like we had a really good idea and that their company would look into having it patented and marketed for us.

In order for them to have our idea researched to make sure there was no other out there, we had to pay for the research, so my husband and I gave George Galvin a money order for the amount of $1090.00 plus $100 cash. He said they would research our idea and get back to us.

We received a call from George Galvin stating that their company accepted our idea. We had to meet with him again regarding the research on our inventions and patent. We met with George on April 28 After talking with George about out invention he gave us a black binder with all the research regarding our Doggie Doo idea, and how many Doggie Doos would be sold across America. He told us in order to progress to the next step, meaning filing a patent, marketing a brochure, and preparing a press release and going to trade shows we had to pay an additional $3500.

We had to have my friends mother come in on this with us because the costs were getting high. I asked George if we had to pay anymore money and he had said no. George told us that from that point on we would be dealing with other company called Triad, which was located in Murrells inlet, SC. A month after that we started getting bills from Triad in the amount of $252.87. When we had called Triad to see what this was for they had told us it was for the Phase II of our invention process. We told them that George Galvin told us that we didn't need anymore money and they told us that this money was going for a provisional patent.

Over the next couple of months we would receive in the mail letters from Advent headquarters in Pawleys Island, SC. Giving us vague reports on the progress of our invention. We received a brochure of our invention. After not hearing from the company we decided to call George Galvin and he inturn told us to speak with a Richard Goldstein, he was the one that was filing for our patent. Each time we called Goldstein he would never answer our calls or even return them.

After dealing with this for over a year we realized that we were scammed. All this money we gave was just for a Black binder with a lot of Hog Wash. After doing our own research we had seen our idea is being sold in Australia.
