Looking on the internet to find businesses that did installation of lightning protection. One of the businesses I had contacted was Lightning Rod Parts to request a estimate on lightning protection parts and installation for my area.

A man named Steve and a woman named Monica representing Automatic Lightning Protection came to my home with their 4 dogs in a personal vehicle. They told me that the both businesses were together.

After they let their dogs defecate in my yard, against my wishes, and listening to the woman Monica tell me about her son that had a history of drug addition and that he had died from a drug overdose the previous year, I finally received my estimate.

It was so very unprofessional. Also, I received copies of 2 "Lightning Protection Institute" Certificates that beared the names of Stephen B. Louke and Steven R. Louk.

I contacted the references that Lightning Rod Parts lists on their web site. After talking to them, they said they had never heard of Lightning Rod Parts. I contacted Lightning Rod Parts and asked them about that and I was told that their father in law did those installations over 20 years ago.

I asked if he oversees the installations of their jobs and they said No, he retired and lives in Arizona.

I then googled the their names. I found that Steven Louk or Louke had been cited 8 times in Marion County, Florida for unlicensed contracting and unlicensing activities.

Looking in Marion County, FL. Court records, he was arrested for this activity and plead guilty and is currently on probation for it.

I contacted the "Lightning Protection Institute" and I was told by Pam Van Sickle that one certificate with Stephen B. Louke was 15 years outdated. The certificate with Steven R. Louk was a complete fraud.

I told Pam Van Sickle of my findings, and she suggested I contact the BBB in my area. I called the BBB and was told that the Bureau had been contacted before about these businesses.

I refused to have these people do any work for me. So beware of Automatic Lightning Protection, located in FL. And Wi., both do installations in "Fl. & wi". Also Lightning Rod Parts in Fl. And listes locates and inspection centers in the Southeast, Northeast and West Coast.

After all of this, I chose Lightning Protection Sales, Inc. They are reputable, listed, licensed and has a valid and up to date certification.
