I put in a claim with First American 3 week ago. They sent a tech out to verify that the compressor was out on my air conditioner. I was told that he would send the report in to First American and the part would be here in 7-10 days. The time frame passed so I gave First American a call. I had to hold 27 min. And then the call was disconnected. I called back and had to wait an additional 30 min. To get through. When I did get through I was told that they were waiting for me to approve a 250.00 disposal charge from the contractor that they will not cover. So... How come I had to call to get this information and they did not call me. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they let me speak with Laura and she advised me that if I find out the laws in my stay I sould not have to pay the disposal fee to get rid of the compressor and that I would be able to dispose of it myself. I explained to her that I work for the disposal service here in Nevada and I know what I would have to do to dispose of the compressor. I then called the contractor that they had sent out and advised them of what I was told and he told me that the repair would not happen if I would not pay the fee. I called back First American to speak with Laura, she would not get on the phone and denied giving me the disposal information. I also asked them had my receipt been received for the 150.00 that they would reimberse me for the air unit that I had to go out and purchase. I sent an email, with read receipt, to Laura with the receipt that she told me she would get processed. It took her 3 days just to open the email again I am told that it will be 7-10 for that to be processed. Today I had my appointment scheduled for the guy to come out and install the part. My appointment was between 10& 11:30, at 12:00pm there was still no one at my home. I contacted First American advised them that the tech didnt show they told me that all they could do was call and leave him a message (the same thing that I had done). I also advised them that I have 2 children in my home that are out of school for the summer and pets in the home and it is 101 outside. They told me that they did all that they could do. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was just let on hold for over 30 min untill I disconnected the call. Finally that tech called me about 5pm and said that his supervisor just brought the part over to him and that he would be out today but he didnt not what the exact time would be. We called him back at 8pm, 9pm and he told us that he was still coming and how he was suppose to be off this weekend and his supervisor was suppose to work. We continued to wait in the extreme he that was in our home at 10:30 pm we called him to see if he was still coming and that when we got no answer. Here I am still waiting for a service call from this tech and will not even return the phone call. I guess these are the kind of companies that First American work with but what more can I expect, they are not professional themselves. If anyone wants to file a lawsuit against this company please contact me.
