Romance Pros and Greater Expectations are the same monster. I sent in a "survey" to GE just for the heck of it. What harm could it do? I got a call in Dec to come in for an appointment. Sure why not. Let me tell you, their high pressure sales would make a car sales man blush. We went through the questionairre and all etc... Then came the kicker. Nearly $4000 for membership. You've got to be kidding. It was right before the holidays. I was looking to move in the near future. I'm trying to reduce my debt not take on more. I was in there for at least two hours total and this little voice in the back of my head was SCREAMING "DON'T DO IT!" I got the "The internet is not safe. You'll never know what you're going to get" speil. "You deserve this." "You have been waiting along time for this." "You want more out of your life." And blah, blah, blah. I just couldn't see me paying out however much per month for I forget how long to pay this off. After much begging and pleading she offered a "passive" membership for $500. Have yet to hear from them and it is now June. I'm not sure that I want to.

Now I happened to mention in the email I sent them that I could have used the $500 to pay for my high school class reunion trip this summer. See I have to CHARGE it and incur MORE DEBT if I decide to go instead of paying CASH. I teach and have no money coming in for ten weeks. The money I have in the bank has to pay for my living expenses until August. Romance Pros my foot. More like Ripoff Pros.
