United Marketing Group, Schaumburg, Illinois UMG from an inside perspective

As a recent former emplyee of UMG in Schaumburg, IL I felt the need to tell you something about the inner workings of this scam company. Let me say that I chose to leave the position since I have too much of a conscience to work for such a fraudelent company as UMG.

They only hire through temp agencies. Your promised a lot and not much is delievered. Supposedly your considered hired after several months working as a temp employee (depending on agency). After that time few are ever actually hired or when inquiring about it it drags on and on. They also have new hire training classes almost every week (2 week training) Why? BEcause they either quit or get fired. Getting fired is a regular occurence at UMG. Once you get smart as to their deceptive practices your gone. THe other workers are constantly in fear of their phone ringing everyday (in fear they are fired) Of course the firing is done through the temp agency. The agencies consist of Volt, Act 1 and Lasalle Network located in the Schaumburg, IL area.

Yes they offer a lot of programs you supposedly agreed to though all the phone callers say differently. It is our job then to read pre-written scripts trying to get the caller to agree to what they supposedly signed up for and some cases telling them they signed and returned invitations. They also use outside telemarketers who supposedly call these people at home or their businesses and sign them up, then suddenly they are charged for these membership programs.

What the consumer does not know is that the telemarketers already have your credit card or bank info. This is also true for Merchant Services offered through Discover Business accounts. I had to defend many calls from business owners who don't even have a computer system. Why would they sign up for a service like this? Doesn't make sense. UMG also processes upgrades for places such as CHase Prestige credit card and Bank of America Select Status credit card customers. All day long CHase and BOA customers are calling saying they never signed up for these upgrades in their credit cards. YOU ARE RIGHT! You never did they just charged you for them. This company (in my opinion) rely's on making money by the consumer who doesn't notice these monthly charges until after they have been paying for months and some cases for years. Of course they only will refund 2 months charges telling you that is the legal disputable time frame from any bank.

Anyway, My conscience could no longer justify working for UMG. I am now unemployed and relieved that I never have to work there again. The elderly are most affected going by the amount of calls I received daily which was usually around 140 per day.

On an ending note... I am sorry to all the people I lied to, stole from. I want to clear my consceince. I hope other UMG employess post their thoughts here as well. Unfortunately thewy have a good record with the BBB. How I don't know.
